Morgan Schneiderlin full of praise for Anthony Martial following Manchester United’s draw against CSKA Moscow

Morgan Schneiderlin has praised Anthony Martial following Manchester United’s 1-1 draw against CSKA Moscow on Wednesday evening.

Martial conceded a penalty with a handball early on at the Arena Khimki before scoring Man United’s equaliser in the second period with a superb header.

It was a hard earned point for United and the 19-year-old typified their resilience in the second half.

Schneiderlin was happy that Martial “didn’t let his head go down” after the spot kick.

Anthony Martial didn’t let his head go down, which can happen after the penalty and he scored a great goal,” Schneiderlin said.

“Then we pushed on and gave everything and couldn’t get the second goal which was a shame.”

Martial’s display against CSKA goes to show just how determined of a character he is. Being so young, he could have let the penalty get to him but he pushed on and eventually grabbed the team’s equalising goal. Louis van Gaal will want more of the same when United play Manchester City this weekend.
