Manchester United’s game against City this weekend is without doubt one of the biggest fixtures in the Premier League calendar and both teams are heading into the game in good form.
City smashed Bournemouth 5-1 last weekend and Man United brushed aside Everton in a 3-0 win but in terms of the strongest starting XI, who do we think should start?
First and foremost, Wayne Rooney will start in the derby – after all, he is the record goalscorer in Manchester derbies. That means Anthony Martial is likely to be forced to the left but he’s more than capable of being dangerous from that position as he’s shown in the last two games.
The other main focus point in this team is Ander Herrera in the No.10 role and he’s going to be crucial against City in terms of creating chances. Herrera was quiet in Moscow but you do get the feeling Juan Mata‘s absence played a role in that because they love playing alongside each other.
Overall, we’d be pretty happy if this was our starting XI against City but we want to know what you think
Is this a good enough team to beat Manchester City or are there things you would change?
