Victor Valdes‘s agent Gines Carvajal has revealed the Manchester United goalkeeper could decide to stay in the Premier League when he leaves Old Trafford.
The Spaniard’s Man United career has not exactly gone to plan, after he allegedly refused to play in an under 21 game last season. Valdes has since been banished from the first team squad and is not allowed into the dressing room with the rest of the side and will be hoping he can find a new club as soon as possible.
The 33-year-old was close to leaving this summer, before a move to Besiktas fell through because of an issue with wages but his agent has admitted that his client could choose to stay in the Premier League. Valdes has made just two appearances in the competition since joining United in January and will want a club where he can play on a regular basis.
“We will try to turnaround the situation [in January]. It is logical and is what he wants,” Carvajal told Spanish radio station 4G.
“Nothing is clear at this moment because there are still two months [to the transfer window]. The Premier League is attractive, he is adapted there so possibly he is going to stay in the Premier League but I don’t close doors anywhere. Although always we will depend on Manchester to let him to go.”
It is clear that Valdes will want to move club as soon as the opportunity arises. The former Barcelona man will be infuriated with the way his time at United has turned out and will be looking to put it behind him and move on to a new team. It is another example of Louis van Gaal falling out with a player and it is obvious that Valdes’s career lies elsewhere.
