Man United had the better of the chances at Old Trafford but were forced to settle for a point in what was a hard fought game.
Eyebrows were raised when it was announced that Valencia would start against City but the Ecuadorian silenced doubters by putting in an excellent display.
Valencia thanked fans and revealed that he is recovering from a foot injury which forced him off late on:

Valencia was included over Matteo Darmian at Old Trafford and the right-back responded to Louis van Gaal’s faith by performing well.
Raheem Sterling was given no room to maneuverer by Valencia, who shut down the City forward brilliantly. The 30-year-old will be hoping to build on his good display with a run in the starting XI.
