Manchester United’s Ashley Young edging closer to full fitness

Manchester United’s Ashley Young is edging closer to full fitness following injury, according to manutd.com.

Young replaced Marcos Rojo in the Capital One Cup defeat against Middlesbrough on Wednesday night.

The versatile midfielder had been out of action since picking up a knock in the 3-0 defeat against Arsenal earlier this month.

His return will be a boost for Louis van Gaal ahead of the Crystal Palace clash at Selhurst Park this weekend.

Young has proven to be an invaluable member of the squad since van Gaal’s arrival as the 30-year-old is always willing to sacrifice individual merit for the needs of the team.

With Memphis Depay out of form and Jesse Lingard still relatively unproven despite some good displays in recent weeks, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Young feature against the Eagles on Saturday.
