Memphis Depay dropped from Holland squad for upcoming friendlies

Memphis Depay has been left out of the Netherlands squad to face Wales and Germany in their upcoming friendlies.

Danny Blind’s decision not to include Memphis comes due to a lack of game time at Manchester United for Memphis following Louis van Gaal‘s choice to drop Memphis for recent matches.

The 21-year=old certainly hasn’t had the start at Man United he would have been dreaming of but van Gaal is still backing his qualities and just feels he needs some more time.

Here is the Holland squad in full and you might notice that Robin van Persie has also been left out of Holland’s squad:

For Memphis, it’s another piece of bad news to add on to what has been a very poor month from him but if there’s a positive to take out of all of it, hopefully he can learn from his mistakes.

Memphis is young and will have errors but this should be a lesson he can learn from and make sure he doesn’t repeat. That’s the most important thing – if he can do that, three’s every chance he’ll avoid making the same mistakes in the future and that’s how young players grow and mature into seasoned professionals.

In all honesty, Memphis isn’t missing much with Holland other than a couple of friendlies but he’ll want to get back into that squad as soon as possible.
