Louis van Gaal not concerned by Manchester United fan chants to ‘attack’

Louis van Gaal is not letting chants by Manchester United fans affect him, following another 0-0 draw for the Reds.

Man United fans were angered during their draw with Crystal Palace as they watched their team fail to score for the third consecutive game. The away supporters could be heard singing ‘we’re Man United, we want to attack’ as their team lost ground on Manchester City and Arsenal in the race for the Premier League title.

Van Gaal has come under plenty of criticism lately for the style of football he wants his team to play. United have been dominating possession but have been unable to break through defences with their lack of creativity and forward impetus. The manager understands the fans view and is hoping to win back their faith with a better display against CSKA Moscow.

“I think the right of the fans is always there [to voice their opinion],” he said.

“The first time that we were not the better away team was against Arsenal so I think they have seen it very good. They can sing that [attacking chant], but in the next game maybe they shall sing in another way.

“I have to hope we score against Moscow again because then we are talking in a different way.”

United are desperate for a goal and will know that they can’t afford anything but a win from their clash with CSKA. They have looked short of ideas in front of goal recently and will be eager to put that right against the Russian side.

With Wayne Rooney still struggling for goals and the rest of the team finding it difficult to find the back of the net, the game against CSKA is crucial for United to get their season back on track as they look to push for silverware on all fronts.
