Ander Herrera is ready for Manchester United’s UEFA Champions League game against CSKA Moscow, the fourth of the group stage.
Louis van Gaal‘s side need a win on Tuesday night as they currently are second in Group B, level on points and goal difference with CSKA. They’re expected to finish as group winners but Vfl Wolfsburg occupy top spot at the moment. A win would see United climb into first place should Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven beat Wolfsburg.
Herrera posted on Instagram following United’s training session and is looking forward to the clash:
United need to bounce back from three consecutive 0-0 draws, the first time that has happened since 2005. Meanwhile, statistics have been flowing about United’s lack of chances created and lack of shots. Only West Bromwich Albion, who United play in the Premier League on Saturday, have had less shots in the league than United this season.
Herrera has been impressive since getting his chance in the United team this season, having originally been on the brink of the first team, much to the surprise of United fans.
The Spaniard played just 130 minutes in the opening four league games, either subbed on or subbed off, before becoming a regular starter in mid-September. Since then he’s added a creativity and incisiveness that is missing in his absence. His partnership with countrymen Juan Mata has continued to flourish and most United fans would be disappointed to not see him in the starting line-up for every game.
