Axel Tuanzebe added to Manchester United’s UEFA Champions League squad

Axel Tuanzebe has been added to Manchester United’s UEFA Champions League squad.

As a homegrown player, Tuanzebe takes a place on Player List B which means he doesn’t count as one of the senior players as far as UEFA’s squad size limits are concerned.

For Tuanzebe, it will put a big smile on his face to see his name on the list alongside Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Matteo Darmian. Although there are no guarantees he will get any game time, simply being added into the squad is a big step in the right direction for his Man United career.

Van Gaal has confirmed that Jones is back in the squad for the CSKA Moscow game but Tuanzebe’s place means he is now ready to take over responsibilities should any other injuries crop up, just like they did at the weekend for the Crystal Palace game.

There might be plenty that United are doing wrong at the moment but seeing the likes of Jesse Lingard, Andreas Pereira and now Tuanzebe all being integrated into the team is great to see.
