Manchester United are trying to sign promising Danish youngster Emre Mor, according to MailOnline.
Man United have, allegedly, already been to see Mor play and are interested in bringing the 18-year-old to Old Trafford, as he continues to impress for FC Nordsjaelland’s U19 side.
However, the reports also suggest that Liverpool are keeping a close eye on developments as they have also been alerted to Mor’s talent.
The youngster is now one of the most sought after players in Europe with the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Ajax also reportedly in the mix for Mor’s signature. It shows that United will certainly have their work cut out for them if they do choose to try and sign Mor and they will hope that he chooses Old Trafford as his next destination.
The Dane could be causing a battle for his signature similar to the one last summer involving Martin Odegaard. The Norwegian youngster was wanted by almost all of the big clubs around Europe before he finally decided on signing for Real Madrid, aged just 16.
United will want to make sure a similar occurrence doesn’t take place, after Odegaard visited the club’s facilities but still elected to move to Los Blancos instead.
Louis van Gaal has proven on numerous occasions that he is not afraid to give young players a run out in the first-team. He has continued United’s long-standing tradition of helping develop young players and, hopefully, this is something that could influence Mor’s decision, should he leave FC Nordsjaelland. Van Gaal has brought through many young players at previous clubs and the Reds will want the signature of Mor in order to try and mould him into the best player he can possibly be.
