Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata is looking forward to a “special match” when Spain face England during the upcoming international break.
It promises to be an entertaining clash and Mata insisted he will enjoy the occasion.
“We have a special match this coming Friday… I’ve been living in the UK for five years and playing against England is very motivating,” he said.
“Phil, Chris, Michael and Wayne, I hope we win but mainly I hope to see a nice football game and all of us can enjoy it on the pitch.”
Louis van Gaal, however, will be just be hopeful that all of his players return in one piece as the likes of Carrick and Rooney picked up knocks during the last international break.
Mata scored in the 2-0 win against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday and he will be full of confidence heading into the match against England. The two teams may well face each other in a more serious affair at the European Championships next summer.
