Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has named Manchester United’s David de Gea in his World XI.
The former Man United man was asked to come up with the team in a recent interview with the Telegraph.
Wayne Rooney makes the substitute’s bench, while there is a surprise in Everton centre-back John Stones’ inclusion.
The majority of Pique’s Barcelona and Spain teammates make up the rest of the team, with the likes of Neymar, Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Ramos all included.
Pique can speak with some authority on the talent of the players having seem them first hand in training every day. De Gea is widely regarded to be one of the finest keepers in the world alongside Manuel Neuer and he will be pleased to hear his international teammate speak so highly of him.
Gerard Pique’s World XI: De Gea, Stones, Pique, Ramos, Busquets, Iniesta, Pogba, Fabregas, Neymar, Suarez, Messi
Subs: Iker Casillas, Dani Alves, Eden Hazard, David Silva, Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo.
