Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian believes that Serie A is tactically superior to the Premier League but feels his start couldn’t have gone better in England and is delighted with how it’s gone so far.
Darmian moved from Torino to Man United this summer and has played a big part for Louis van Gaal’s side this season.
The Italian full-back has dropped off in terms of his performance in recent weeks but fans are generally in agreement that he has been a shrewd purchase.
Darmian revealed that he thinks the Premier League is lacking in terms of tactics and nutrition.
“In England, the new experience started in the best possible way and I hope it can continue like this,” he said.
“Playing in another league in another country helps you to grow in every way. In the Premier League it is more physical and less tactical than Serie A. Compared to Italy, there is less attention to nutrition.”
Darmian has enjoyed a positive start to life at United and seems to have adapted to the Premier League quickly. He was suspended for the game against West Bromwich Albion prior to the international break but he will be keen to be included in the starting XI for the clash against Watford this weekend.
