Bastian Schweinsteiger believes Manchester United’s blend of youth and experience can win them titles in the future.
Schweinsteiger, 31, joined Man United this summer after spending a number of years at Bayern Munich.
Schweinsteiger insisted the squad has a good platform to build on in their hunt for silverware.
”I hope there are many more seasons to come with United. I feel very good at the moment,” Schweinsteiger said.
“We have experience in our team and we have young players with quality in the team, so if we all do our job well in the group then I think we can achieve a lot. I want to win titles and I think Manchester United is also used to winning titles, so that is definitely my goal. But for those type of moments, we will all have to work very hard together and always try to improve ourselves.”
Van Gaal has had his critics this season but it is clear to see that the decisions he is making at United are firmly with the long-term in mind. Players such as Memphis and Martial have huge potential and van Gaal is also bringing through the likes of Jesse Lingard, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Pereira from within the academy.
