Rochdale have resigned Manchester United keeper Joel Castro Pereira on a second loan spell.
Pereira joined Rochdale on a one-month deal in October but only made one appearance for the League One outfit and he will now remain at the club until January 2016.
However, he impressed in the 1-0 defeat to Morecambe in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy quarter-final, saving a penalty and earning the Man of the Match award.
Rochdale manager Keith Hill recently admitted he was sad to see Pereira leave the club and he has managed to bring the player in for a second spell.
Pereira is only 19 and he still has plenty of time to develop. Another loan spell at Rochdale will do him good and set him up well for the challenge ahead at Man United.
It says a lot about how much Pereira impressed in his single performance at Rochdale that they want to bring him back for another loan spell. Hopefully this time around he can get more than one appearance under his belt.
