Anthony Martial believes his debut goal for Manchester United against Liverpool was the best strike of his career to date.
Eyebrows were raised when Man United chose to spend £36m on the relatively unknown Martial late in the transfer window this summer.
However, the Frenchman answered his critics in resounding style with a memorable debut goal at Old Trafford.
Picking up the ball on the left hand side, Martial took the ball past Martin Skrtel and Nathaniel Clyne before slotting past Simon Mignolet and into the net.
“I think the greatest goal I’ve ever scored is the one against Liverpool,” Martial said.
“It was amazing for me and it really made my name in the Manchester team.”
Martial hasn’t looked back since the goal and has only gone from strength to strength at United. He has gradually developed himself into a crucial part of the side and his absence due to injury for this weekend’s clash against Watford will be sorely felt. Aged just 19, the sky really is the limit in terms of what Martial can achieve.
