Bastian Schweinsteiger looked like he enjoyed scoring against Watford

Bastian Schweinsteiger has been slowly growing in influence all season for Manchester United and fans have been willing him on to score his first goal in the shirt.

Against Watford, his last gasp shot was turned into the net to give Man United a dramatic 2-1 win late on and he sprinted off back towards the dugout in jubilant celebration.

This photo from the Watford game yesterday captured it perfectly – Schweinsteiger was going absolutely barmy.

Truth be told, Schweinsteiger’s performance against Watford wasn’t his best of the season but he had the commitment and desire to be in the right place at the right time after Jesse Lingard‘s deflected shot gave him an opportunity to seal the win, and he made no mistake.

It still seems so strange that we signed Schweinsteiger for just £6.5m given how influential a player he is but while fans of other teams may tell themselves that he’s nothing more than a big name, United fans are beginning to understand why he is endeared so much by Bayern Munich and Germany fans because we’re all starting to love him.

Deutscher Fussball Meister indeed!
