Josh Harrop available for Manchester United U21s return

Josh Harrop is available to play for Manchester United’s U21s again having spent some time on the sidelines with a hernia problem.

The 19-year-old old midfielder has been out of action for a while but he’ll be keen to become a key player under Warren Joyce once again like he was previously.

Speaking about his fitness, Harrop told MUTV that he has completely overcome his hernia injury and revealed he has been playing with it for quite a while but waited for the right moment to fix it.

“I’ve trained over the last few days and have been working hard and doing extra stuff in the gym,” Harrop told MUTV. “I had a sports hernia and thought it was the best time to get it done now, as we didn’t have many games, so I finished one game and got it sorted. It’s fixed and I’m back on the road now.

“I played with it for quite a while but saw it out until the end of the season. I couldn’t really feel it after then so I didn’t get anything done, but I started feeling it again and it came back. I had the opportunity to get it done now as we didn’t have many games.”

When Harrop broke into the U21s team, such was his promise that he displaced the established Joe Rothwell from Warren Joyce’s team. Unfortunately for him, niggling injuries have thwarted his development in recent times.

However, now he has overcome his hernia problem, Josh will be concentrating on his development once again and having seen the likes of Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Axel Tuanzebe in the first-team squad, that’s something he’ll be desperate to experience.
