Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has described Manchester United as a “giant of world football” ahead of the clash between the two sides this weekend.
Ranieri’s side currently top the Premier League, largely due to the goalscoring exploits of Jamie Vardy, who has scored in ten consecutive league games in a row.
Man United, meanwhile, are second having registered a last-gasp win over Watford at Vicarage Road last time out. Ranieri believes Leicester are in for a tough game on Saturday.
“It is a big challenge. Manchester United are a giant of world football and Van Gaal is one of the best coaches around,” Ranieri said.
Leicester will be full of confidence heading into the clash and it is important that United are in top form on Saturday.
Whether or not United secure a positive result or not depends mainly on Vardy’s influence on the game, and, to a lesser extent, Riyad Mahrez’s. There is no doubt that Louis van Gaal will have a plan for the pair, although his immediate focus will be on the Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night.
