Anthony Martial is ready to return for Manchester United’s game on Wednesday night against PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League.
The Frenchman took part in full training on Tuesday having overcome a foot injury which ruled him out of the Watford game last weekend but he’s been able to recover in time for the PSV match.
Given that he is by far and away our most important attacker, it’s the best possible injury news we could have got ahead of PSV. Of course, that doesn’t mean he’s guaranteed to start because it is up to Louis van Gaal but it looks like Martial feels ready.
It was actually away at PSV Eindhoven where we saw Martial’s all-round game in action. The goal against Liverpool will live long in the memory but his general play and ability to hold the ball up was something we hadn’t seen before, and something he made look so easy.
Since then, Martial has gone from strength to strength and grown in influence to the point where he is now a guaranteed starter when fit. So, to have him back for the PSV match, a game we can’t afford to lose, is a morale boost for sure.
