Telegraph reporter Jason Burt believes Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo will join Paris Saint-Germain next summer.
Ronaldo has been flirting with a move away from Madrid for a number of weeks now, with PSG, Manchester United and teams from the MLS and Qatar all said to be interested in him.
Louis van Gaal recently confirmed that Man United would be keen on signing Ronaldo but Burt insisted the Portuguese will reject his former club in favour of the French champions.
“Personally, I think it’s more likely that he’ll go to PSG,” Burt said.
“I think Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] will go, there’ll be a massive vacancy there for a superstar and I think Ronaldo will be the star of French football. They’ll build the team around him, which is what he wants.”
Ronaldo reportedly wants to leave Madrid after suffering a breakdown in his relationship with Madrid manager Rafael Benitez.
While United supporters would love for Ronaldo to return to Old Trafford, a move to PSG does make sense for the 30-year-old. He would be able to challenge himself in Ligue 1 and in Europe, with PSG spending big in recent years in order to win the Champions League. It would come as a bitter blow for United fans but the club have also been linked with moves for the likes of Gareth Bale and Thomas Muller.
