Louis van Gaal unsure of injuries after ‘intense’ PSV Eindhoven clash

Louis van Gaal has refused to discuss whether Manchester United picked up any fresh injury concerns following the 0-0 draw against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night.

Man United put in a dismal display at Old Trafford, particularly during the second half, and were left to rue missed chances as they were held to a draw.

In his press conference on Friday, van Gaal confirmed that Ander Herrera and Phil Jones are still unavailable for selection but refused to divulge further when asked if there had been any more injuries.

“It’s too early to say something about that but it was a very intense game. I cannot say too much about that,” van Gaal said.

Van Gaal chose to retain a small squad this season and United are now being tested in terms of injuries.

The likes of Anthony Martial, Michael Carrick, Jones and Wayne Rooney have been sidelined in recent weeks, meaning van Gaal has had to turn to fringe players. He will be hoping they all return to action as quickly as possible as United prepare for the top of the table clash against Leicester City this weekend.
