Arjen Robben urges Pep Guardiola to stay at Bayern Munich

Arjen Robben has urged Pep Guardiola to stay at Bayern Munich, describing the Spaniard as “one of the best coaches in the world”.

Guardiola has six months remaining on his current deal at Bayern and talks over a new contract have stalled.

The former Barcelona manager has been linked with Manchester United and Manchester City in recent weeks but Robben believes he should stay at Bayern.

“We have one of the best coaches in the world and as many of our players have already said, we all want him to stay,” Robben said.

“It is a lot of fun working with him. Tactically he is perhaps the best – and I don’t say that just because he’s our coach at the moment. He is also a perfect human fit with Bayern.”

Robben is also said to be on Man United’s radar as Louis van Gaal looks to inject “speed and creativity” into his side.

Van Gaal has been criticised this season following some increasingly meek attacking displays from United this term. Guardiola’s teams, on the other hand, go forward with fervour and panache. United face a difficult decision this summer if United continue to look subpar and Guardiola becomes available.
