Dean Henderson on crutches after injury against PSV Eindhoven

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United’s U19s goalkeeper Dean Henderson is on crutches after suffering an injury last week.

The 18-year-old was substituted after just 33 minutes during Man United’s 5-0 loss to PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Youth League and has clearly suffered a painful injury.

There is no official confirmation as to the severity of the injury but as he’s on crutches, we can only assume it’s not a minor one.

So far this season, Henderson kept two clean sheets in five appearances for the U19s and had one start for the U21s as well, but he’ll now have to concentrate on his recovery following this injury.

In his place, George Dorrington is likely to step in from the U18s and that’s a good opportunity for him to impress U19s boss Nicky Butt and U21s boss Warren Joyce.

We’ll try to find out more information about the severity of Henderson’s injury during the course of the week.
