Angelo Ogbonna has insisted that West Ham aren’t scared of Manchester United ahead of the clash between the two sides this weekend.
West Ham have enjoyed a solid start to the campaign but their progress has been hampered somewhat by injuries to key players such as Dimitri Payet and Diafra Sakho.
Man United, meanwhile, sit one point off the top of the Premier League table following a 1-1 draw against Leicester City last time out. Ogbonna believes his side will have no fear against United at Old Trafford.
“We’re not afraid, because this is our job,” he said.
“This is our passion, so we have to prepare everything without being afraid. I waited for my chance and the chance has come, and I have to take my position, take my opportunity and I have to take it for the team. We have to look forward to the next game, a big game at Old Trafford.”
It should be an interesting match, with United’s problems up top well documented and West Ham missing some creative sparks due to injury. Supporters at Old Trafford will be eager for their side to secure all three points against the Hammers as United have drawn six of their last nine games in all competitions.
