Manchester United monitor Fulham’s Moussa Dembele ahead of possible January bid – report

Manchester United are keeping tabs on Fulham striker Moussa Dembele ahead of a possible bid in the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports News.

Dembele joined Fulham from Paris Saint-Germain in 2012 and has flourished this season, scoring eight goals for the Championship side.

The 19-year-old, who has represented France at five age group levels, was thought to be close to signing a new contract at Craven Cottage.

However, Man United have registered their interest and will consider making a move for the forward in January.

Bringing in Dembele would be a controversial decision for United as Louis van Gaal let an equally promising youngster leave earlier this season in James Wilson.

Van Gaal allowed Wilson, who is highly rated by supporters, to join Brighton on loan rather than giving him experience in the first-team.

Signing Dembele may be seen as a sideways move as a result. However, United’s problems up top have been well documented over the course of the campaign and van Gaal will be keen to bolster his attacking options.
