Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini struggled during his side’s 0-0 draw with West Ham United in the Premier League.
The Belgian started in the number 10 role, just behind Anthony Martial and started well. Fellaini seemed to be at the centre of everything Man United did in the first 20 minutes and looked most likely to score for the Reds. However, he quickly faded off and barely got involved as the game wore on.
The 28-year-old was then moved into a deeper midfield role to accommodate for Memphis Depay‘s substitution and was clearly out of his depth. Fellaini couldn’t impact the game with his aerial strength in the final third and always seemed to be off the pace, as United chased a winner.
Fans slated Fellaini for his performance and were clearly unhappy with Louis van Gaal‘s decision to start him:
I think it's safe to safe Fellaini providing nothing now. Take him off for Memphis?

Fellaini has been below par for United this season, after seemingly finding his place in the squad under van Gaal last season. A change in system by the manager has meant that the former Everton man has found opportunities few and far between. However, when he has got on the pitch, Fellaini has been poor and seems to slow down United’s forward play.
Many supporters are finding it difficult to get to grips with the way van Gaal likes his teams to play football and some feel Fellaini epitomizes that. He is often used for his strength in the air with the Reds chasing a game but has been unable to really make an impact this campaign.
