Wayne Rooney watches Everton take on Crystal Palace at Goodison Park

Wayne Rooney took a trip to Goodison Park on Monday night to watch Everton take on Crystal Palace.

Manchester United’s captain didn’t travel with the squad to Germany for the Wolfsburg as he was left out with an injury, but obviously it’s not serious enough to stop him paying his old club a visit.

Currently, there’s no diagnosis on when Rooney will be fit enough to return to action. Here’s some photos of him and his son at Goodison Park:

Louis van Gaal said Rooney’s injury was more ‘nasty’ than the club first thought, so seeing him on his feet can only be a good thing in terms of how bad it actually is.

In his absence, Anthony Martial will lead the line against Wolfsburg and for our trip to Bournemouth at the weekend. Whether Rooney is out for longer than that remains to be seen and we’ll more than likely get an update during his press conference on Friday.
