Bastian Schweinsteiger charged by FA with violent conduct over West Ham incident

Bastian Schweinsteiger has been charged by the FA with violent conduct and now faces a three-match ban.

The German midfielder is accused of violent conduct after an incident involving Winston Reid during the West Ham game on Saturday.

He has until 12pm on Thursday 10 December 2015 to reply to the charge.

Marouane Fellaini has not been charged for an alleged stamp because Mark Clattenburg saw the incident and added it into his match report.

If Schweinsteiger is banned for three games, it’s another blow for Louis van Gaal and his mounting problems when it comes to players who are available for selection.

Morgan Schneiderlin and Ander Herrera are both already out with injuries, so not having Schweinsteiger either would mean Michael Carrick is our only natural central midfielder in the team.

We’ll reserve making our own opinion on the matter with Schweinsteiger and a potential ban until it is resolved.
