Louis van Gaal confirms eight players will miss Bournemouth clash due to injury

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed that eight players will miss this weekend’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth due to injury.

Bastian Schweinsteiger, meanwhile, will also be forced to watch from the stands after picking up a three-match ban for violent conduct.

There was good news from van Gaal as he confirmed that Morgan Schneiderlin is coming back from injury, although it is unclear if he will start against Bournemouth, while Chris Smalling, Ander Herrera and Matteo Darmian should be back before Christmas.

Man United have been ravaged by injuries in the past few weeks and the squad is being stretched to it’s limit.

It is likely that van Gaal will be forced to play a makeshift back four at Dean Court, with the likes of Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Guillermo Varela likely to feature.

United and van Gaal are in desperate need of a result following their meek Champions League exit this week. Bournemouth beat Chelsea last week and will be full of confidence heading into the clash. United will need to be on top form if they want to secure the three points.
