Manchester United: De Gea; Varela, McNair, Blind, Borthwick-Jackson; Carrick, Fellaini; Lingard, Mata, Memphis; Martial

Subs: Romero, Jones, Tuanzebe, Young, Schneiderlin, Pereira, Powell

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has made three changes to his side for the Premier League clash against Bournemouth this afternoon, with Paddy McNair, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Michael Carrick coming in for Chris Smalling, Matteo Darmian and the suspended Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Guillermo Varela, McNair and Borthwick-Jackson feature in a makeshift back four, while Morgan Schneiderlin fails to make the starting XI despite his return to fitness.

Nick Powell also makes the substitute bench following a cameo against Wolfsburg last time out.

Juan Mata starts in the No.10 role behind Anthony Martial, with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Ander Herrera still sidelined due to injury.

Van Gaal is under huge pressure at United following the team’s early Champions League exit this week and three points against Bournemouth will be vital if he is to relieve some of the pressure on him and the team.
