Manchester United are in talks to sign FC Zurich teenager Nishan Burkhart, according to MailOnline.
Burkhart, who has been compared in playing style to Arsenal’s Theo Walcott, turns 16 in January.
However, they will face competition for his signature from Arsenal, Southampton and Chelsea.
As well as Burkhart, United are also looking at Ajax midfielder Juan Familia-Castillo and US youth international Matt Olosunde.
The policy has been detrimental to United’s short-term success, as the 2-1 defeat against Bournemouth on Saturday showed.
Fans will likely want United to bring in a game changing signing in the January transfer window, with players such as Southampton’s Sadio Mane and Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez linked to the club. It remains to be seen how United approach the window but it could prove crucial to reviving their season.
