FC Midtjylland midfielder Kristoffer Olsson believes that his side will provide a real test for Manchester United in the Europa League.
Louis van Gaal‘s team will face the Danish champions next year after being drawn against them in the last 32 of the tournament.
Man United are currently under immense pressure as they crashed out of the Champions League with a 3-2 defeat to Wolfsburg in Germany last week and then followed that up with a 2-1 loss against Bournemouth in the Premier League. Olsson, a boyhood United fan, is eagerly anticipating the tie.
“We knocked out Southampton and while the level will go up by a few notches, there is always a chance, but we must play two good matches,” he said.
“They have [Bastian] Schweinsteiger, [Michael] Carrick and [Wayne] Rooney. None of them are in great form, but it is clear they are still very good players.”
Midtjylland defeated Southampton in the Europa League qualifiers at the start of the campaign and they will be no pushovers when they face United.
The Europa League is seen as less glamorous than the Champions League but United should always be looking to win every competition they are in. It will be an interesting clash when it comes around in February.
