Glazers left with final decision to sack Louis van Gaal – report

by Sid Choudhary

Manchester United have agreed a deal to bring Jose Mourinho to the club and the owners must now decide if they want to sack Louis van Gaal, according to the Sun.

Mourinho left Chelsea by ‘mutual consent’ last week and has already been heavily linked with the main job at Man United.

With Louis van Gaal starting to lose the fans’, and maybe player’s, backing, it seems as if his time at Old Trafford could be about to come to an end.

The Sun report that a deal is in place should van Gaal be let go and it is more a matter of when and not if. Reports suggest that the Glazers are debating whether to end the Dutchman’s tenure as Man United boss either before or after the Boxing Day fixture away to Stoke City.

United have already fallen off the pace at the top of the league and can ill afford to drop more points over the festive period. For this reason, it is imperative that if the Glazers do, in fact, want to instate a new manager that they do it as soon as possible.

Given United’s current form, a new manager could have a lot of work to do in order to get the team’s season back on track and, if that man is Mourinho, he will definitely have his work cut out for him. Time will tell if the owners do want to get rid of van Gaal and, if the Sun are right, it could be a busy few days ahead for the whole club.
