Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has labelled speculation surrounding Louis van Gaal’s job at Manchester United as “disrespectful”.
Van Gaal has come under huge pressure at Man United following a 2-1 defeat against Norwich City last time out, with meant the team are now without a win in their last six games in all competitions.
The likes of Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola have been linked with moves to United if van Gaal is sacked but Wenger insisted more respect needs to be shown to the veteran coach.
“This guy has worked in football for 30 years and has delivered an unbelievable quality of work.”
While the pressure on van Gaal has certainly ramped up in recent days, as shown by his early exit from his press conference on Wednesday, discontent among fans has been building up for a number of months.
The Dutchman has been given plenty of time to change his rigid system or his team selection but his stubbornness has seen patience among supporters run out. You get the sense that it is a matter of when, not if, van Gaal is eventually sacked.
