Diego Costa will miss Chelsea’s game against Manchester United on Monday due to a suspension he picked up on Boxing Day.
In the 2-2 draw with Watford, Costa was given a yellow card for a pretty unnecessary challenge late in the game which was his fifth booking of the season.
For Man United, it is good news because Costa scored both of Chelsea’s goals against Watford and is their second highest goalscorer this season with six, one behind Willian.
“He is out for United, with a fifth [booking], which means we have to think how to solve that problem,” Guus Hiddink explained after Chelsea’s game with Watford.
“It’s a pity because he’d put in a good performance. So we need to solve that problem in the next 48 hours.”
United need any help they can get right now. Even though Chelsea head to Old Trafford languishing in 15th position, a full ten points below United, we’re heading into the game not confident at all of a win.
If we can’t pick up any points at home against Norwich, then any team is going to be a struggle, even an out-of-form Chelsea.
