The most worrying reality from Manchester United’s 2-0 loss against Stoke is that the overwhelming majority of fans aren’t surprised by the result. Losing has become the norm.
However, with Chelsea coming to Old Trafford on Monday the players need to pick themselves up immediately and try to move on straight away because losing yet another game in succession is unthinkable.
One big change we could see in the team to face Chelsea is a return for Morgan Schneiderlin. The influential French midfielder missed the match with Stoke for unknown reasons but surely a game against Chelsea is the perfect match for Schneiderlin, given how much will be played through the midfield.
In reality, United couldn’t afford to leave Schneiderlin out of the team to face Stoke City given the result but Louis van Gaal thought differently. Surely that won’t be the case against Chelsea?
Matteo Darmian and Wayne Rooney also coming back into the team would at least give us something different to build on after the terrible loss to Stoke. Something has to change – whether that is with the manager or within the players together, we need to improve and bringing back these players could go some way to doing jus that.
