Pep Guardiola’s agent has revealed that the Spaniard moving to the Premier League is a “big possibility”.
Guardiola recently confirmed that he will be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the campaign, to be replaced by Carlo Ancelotti.
Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with moves for the former Barcelona manager. Guardiola’s agent, Josep Maraa Orobitg, denied that he had spoken to PSG and insisted that the Spaniard could move to England.
“I have never spoken to the president of PSG, not recently or at any time in the past,” Orobitg said.
“I have had contact with his sporting director (Olivier Létang), but that was to speak about one of my players. We have never discussed Pep’s situation and PSG have not asked me anything about his plans.”
When asked about England, Orobitg added: “He hasn’t said anything to me.
“In any case, it’s not something that we are considering at the moment. The Premier League is a big possibility. Pep will make a decision in two or three months’ time. Everything remains a possibility, including a sabbatical year.”
There have been numerous reports suggesting Guardiola’s move to City is all but done but Orobitg’s comments appear to suggest otherwise.
That being said, it is unlikely that the agent would confirm Guardiola’s next destination at this stage of the campaign. With Louis van Gaal under huge pressure at United, the club should ensure that they are in the running for Guardiola’s signature, although it may be too late if his mind is already made up.
