Manchester United keeping tabs on Everton’s Joe Williams – report

by Ben Topliss

Manchester United are keeping tabs on 19-year-old Everton midfielder Joe Williams, according to MailOnline.

Williams joined Everton as a seven-year-old and has gone on to become an integral member of their U21 side.

His performances have alerted a number of top Premier League clubs and Man United are said to be one of a number of sides who have watched Williams this season.

United have signed the likes of Luke Shaw, Memphis Depay and Anthony Martial in recent years as they look to build for the future.

However, Everton resisted an offer of £30m from Chelsea for John Stones this summer and it is likely they will do the same with Williams should United go in for him.

With Louis van Gaal’s side in dire straits currently, it is likely that United fans will want the club to sign a more established star or two first of all in order to rescue their rapidly deteoriating campaign.
