Manchester United have confirmed that Joel Castro Pereira has returned to the club following a loan spell at Rochdale.
Pereira joined Rochdale on an initial one-month loan deal in October but it was extended after the youngster impressed at the League One club.
The Portuguese keeper made his latest appearance for the Angels in a 1-1 draw against Scunthorpe on Monday.
A statement on their website read: ”We’d like to thank Joel for his efforts and his contribution, as well as wishing him the very best of luck for the future.”
Pereira made eight appearances for Rochdale in total, conceding just eight goals.
He will now go straight back into Man United’s U21 squad as they prepare to face Tottenham Hotspur in the New Year at Leigh Sports Village.
