Louis van Gaal calls on Manchester United fans to give the team an ‘extra boost’ against Swansea City

Louis van Gaal has urged Manchester United fans to give the team an “extra boost” against Swansea City on Saturday.

Man United are currently in the midst of an awful run having gone without a win for eight games in all competitions.

While United were much improved against Chelsea last time out, they could only manage a 0-0 draw against the Premier League champions at Old Trafford. Van Gaal admitted that United didn’t end 2015 in the way that he had planned:

An eight game winless run at any other top club in the world would not be tolerated and patience with van Gaal has worn thin.

It is a wonder how he is still in a job at all considering United failed to score against Stoke City and Chelsea over the festive period and only won one point.

Anything less than a win against Swansea will surely be the signal for van Gaal’s reign at Old Trafford to end, although you get the sense that United are backing him. It could turn out to be an awful decision, particularly as Jose Mourinho is reportedly ready and willing to take charge of the club.
