Young was full of running at Old Trafford as he constantly got up and down Man United’s right flank.
He eventually put in the cross that led to Anthony Martial’s opening goal and it was a fine afternoon’s work for the 30-year-old. United fans were pleased with what they saw from Young:
Young has been brilliant today Shows exactly why Mata shouldn't be played on the right. #Mufc

Ashley Young one of the few bright sparks for Utd so far. He's getting forward a lot down the right.

Ashley young play very well, especially in first half. Driving at defenders and crossing. Match wasn't entirely dull

Ashley Young gave a lesson in how to cross vs Swansea. A lot is said about possession play, but good ol' fashioned wing-play never fails.

Love when Ashley Young plays like Diego Maradona.

Young was superb against Swansea but he had to come off late on in the clash due to injury.
The hope is that he isn’t out of action for too long as his work on the wing was exactly what United needed against the Swans.
Young rarely grabs the headlines and he keeps himself out of the limelight but his commitment and quality is never in question. United ended an eight game winless streak with the win and they will be looking to kick on in the Premier League. Before that, they begin their FA Cup campaign against Sheffield United next week.
