Andreas Pereira is in Manchester United’s U21s squad tonight to face Tottenham Hotspur.
The 19-year-old midfielder hasn’t had much game time in recent weeks for the first-team, so Louis van Gaal has clearly chosen to give him a run-out to get some much needed minutes under his belt.
He is too good for U21s football now, so I expect him to stand-out in all the right ways if he does make an appearance against Spurs’ U21s.

Pereira is in a tricky situation in that there is intense pressure on Louis van Gaal, so he is unlikely to bring Pereira into the team to give him opportunities unless injuries dictate he has to do so. Even then, as he showed away to Wolfsburg where he chose Nick Powell ahead of him, there’s no guarantee of game time.
It’ll be interesting to watch Pereira in action and with the FA Cup game coming up at the weekend, he’ll be keen to make a very good impression and earn himself a starting spot against Sheffield United.
