Man United agree to let Victor Valdes leave for free – report

Victor Valdes‘ career at Manchester United was over almost as quickly as it started following his fallout with Louis van Gaal after refusing to play for the U21s on occasions.

Ever since then, Valdes has been frozen out completely, forced to train way from the first-team and reserves and his exit from Man United is considered an inevitability.

A move to Benfica during the summer broke down to Valdes over personal terms and he has since been isolated at the club but the latest reports suggest United are willing to nullify his contract to let him leave on a free transfer.

The main question about that would be why in the world wasn’t that done earlier? It’s quite clear that Valdes doesn’t have a future at United and we signed him on a free anyway, so we wouldn’t be losing out if we let him leave the club in the same fashion he joined.

Instead, we’ve kept Valdes at the club and wasted money on his wages knowing full well that he wasn’t going to play at United so long as van Gaal is in charge. The whole situation is embarrassing for both United and Valdes, so I do hope his contract is terminated and he leaves quickly because it’s the right move for all parties involved.
