AC Milan CEO admits interest in Marouane Fellaini but says it is currently ‘impossible’

AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has admitted he’s always been a fan of Marouane Fellaini but says it’s impossible to complete a transfer at the moment.

Fellaini has been linked to a host of Serie A clubs this week including AC Milan, leading to speculation over whether he could leave Manchester United this month.

While Galliani stresses Fellaini is a player who he likes, he insists Milan don’t need any more central midfielders in the squad.

“We have seven central midfielders and if nobody leaves then we can’t bring anyone else in,” Galliani said.

“Fellaini is an interesting player and I’ve always liked him, but it’s impossible in the current situation.”

So, while Fellaini might be a player who Galliani is a fan of, it doesn’t sound like a move is going to happen in January. Of course, that doesn’t rule out a summer move and I personally would like to see the big Belgian leave then.

Fellaini just isn’t effective enough as a footballer. Recently, he’s even struggling to hold the ball up and win aerial battles and they are his two most dangerous assets. If United can get a good price for him and make sure they bring in a much better replacement, then it will undoubtedly improve our squad.

Sorry but if we’re going to be challenging for the Premier League and UEFA Champions League titles, then we can’t be relying on Fellaini as our plan B.
