Manchester United have been scouting Lokomotiv Moscow striker Oumar Niasse and he could be on his way to the Premier League.
The Guardian reports that Man United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have all been scouting Niasse who was voted Russia’s Premier League Player of the Year in 2015.
He’s got a great record so far this season with 12 goals and ten assists in 21 games, albeit in the Russian League, and Man United certainly need somebody with an eye for goal in the January transfer window.
Interestingly enough, The Guardian points out that Niasse’s wife is based in Manchester and as we know, wives and girlfriends can be extremely influential when it comes to a player choosing where they move. So, that plays into United’s hands for sure. They go as far as to say his heart is set on a move to the Premier League for that very reason.
I’ll be honest and say I’ve never seen Niasse in action but as Louis van Gaal showed with Anthony Martial in the summer, names can come out of the blue and Niasse could very well fall into that category as well.
In the January transfer window it is always hard to land a big signing but maybe in Niasse we could have a striker who has gone under the radar due to playing in Russia who can help to solve our problems up front.
