Guillermo Varela wishes Zinedine Zidane luck at Real Madrid

by Sam Peoples

Guillermo Varela has sent his best wishes to Zinedine Zidane following his appointment as Real Madrid manager this week.

The Uruguayan spent last season on loan at Madrid’s Castilla B side and made a lasting impression on the now Madrid boss, who backed his qualities and said he expected him to go ‘right to the top’.

Varela has since returned to Man United and made his debut for the club in the UEFA Champions League game against Wolfsburg, so he is taking good strides forward in his career and he’s clearly thankful towards Zidane for helping make that happen.

Now Varela, if you don’t mind getting on to the phone and letting Zidane know that he should be letting Raphael Varane join United – may as well throw in Gareth Bale and Toni Kroos while he’s at it – that would be much appreciated.
