Jesse Lingard, meanwhile, is available for the clash having trained all week.
Jones’ injury will come as a bitter blow to supporters as the defender has found himself on the sidelines more often than not over the course of his Man United career.

There were hopes that Jones would kick on in the same way that Chris Smalling has this season with a run of consistent starts in the team but he is simply injured far too often.
Patience is wearing thin with the 23-year-old and he may be moved on if he does not establish himself in the first-team in the second half of the campaign.
It’s bad news as far is Jones is concerned but Lingard’s return is a boost. He was in excellent form prior to his injury and he will be hoping to carry on where he left off against Sheffield United.
