Pep Guardiola has hinted it could be two years before he moves to England to coach in the Premier League.
The current Bayern Munich manager sparked wild speculation over his future when he announced he would be leaving the German champions and made it clear he wanted to manage in the Premier League next.
“When I sign a contract I will announce it immediately,” he said. “Maybe it will be two years until I will coach a team in England.”
“I am very happy about my experience in Munich. I am working until my last second here.
“After that I will go home and wait to see if it is possible to move to England or not. If it’s not, then I won’t.”
With Louis van Gaal‘s contract set to run out in 2017/18, that falls in line with the Man United job were Louis to not get sacked and that’s got fans excited at the possibility of moving to Old Trafford. That being said, it’s also when Manuel Pellegrini’s contract expires as well, so maybe he’s waiting for that one but for a manager of his stature, I can’t imagine either team making him wait an extra year.
Guardiola is top of many fans’ lists of potential replacements for van Gaal but Chelsea, City and United will all be interested in him, so competition is fierce for his signature but if we were to bring him in, could he be the man to restore United back to the top of the Premier League?
