Ben Pearson’s exit from Manchester United on Monday to Preston North End was met by plenty of disappointed fans.
The 21-year-old midfielder won over plenty of United’s faithful from his displays during his years in our academy teams and that connection never left, despite his time out on loan at Barnsley.
Having seen so many youngsters get a chance under Louis van Gaal, it’s clear to see how United fans really wanted to see Pearson afforded the same opportunities.
@DoronSalomon @pnefc @ManUtd A good player, at times very good

@DoronSalomon have been barking about Ben Pearson for the last one year like a mad man. Absolutely sad to see him go. Fantastic player.

Cracking signing for them, shame to see him leave United in some ways. Still think he'll end up in the PL eventually https://t.co/K2reeqDYJ7

I’ve been saying it ever since the original stories broke linking Pearson with a move to Preston but they’ve signed a cracking player.
At 21, he’s nearly racked up 50 Football League appearances and that experience will put him in good stead to succeed at a club who United have historically had strong connections with.
While I’m sad to see Pearson go, I’ll be happy to now watch his progression through the ranks and hope one day he’ll be lining up against United in the Premier League.
From all United fans, good luck Ben.
